Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training Scholarship
This scholarship is administered by the Alberta Government.  In 2002, TIAA contributed $10,000 to the Alberta Apprentice & Industry Training Scholarship Program.  In this program, the Alberta Government matches donations from industry on a 2:1 ratio.  The annual $1,000 TIAA Insulator Scholarship is available for applicants who have completed their first year of technical training.  Additional eligibility criteria is as follows:
  • Canadian citizen or landed immigrant;
  • An Alberta resident, as defined by Alberta Scholarship Programs;
  • Have completed first year of technical training and be eligible for the next period of training;
  • Must rank first, second or third in the pool of eligible applicants in overall combined marks;
  • Employer recommendation form must be included; and
  • Include one or two paragraphs describing what you enjoy about the trade, why you have chosen a career in the trades and how this scholarship will benefit you.
